The Secret Meaning of Sports in Artwork
Good to know, what often lies behind the origin of sports is a misunderstanding of ancient symbolism. This analysis comes from Steven B. Halls, M.D., FRCPC, a prominent symbolism researcher who, at halls.md, documents the energy-flow meaning behind ancient symbols. In ancient art, one could see sports using balls and feet or hands, or sports with handheld clubs, and because people generally try to work out what the visual imagery refers to, they landed on games. Rules for the games were then reconstructed, paving the way for modern sports like soccer, baseball, basketball, and racket sports. When sport imagery is found in symbolism, it typically delivers two things, a story about the sport, and a deeper, hidden meaning, known only to those who were taught how to interpret the diagrammatic layout of symbolism.
Ancient writings do sometimes contain descriptions of sports but in most instances, the existence of a sport was purely a guess, that later acquired the rules we now know. The symbols of a spherical form in Symbolism denote portals to higher dimensions, but statues grasping a sphere in one hand tend to receive literal descriptions in museums, where they are called sports statues. Spheres beneath the feet may hold symbolic meaning and also plant ideas for inventing a variety of sports with balls. Football/soccer is but one case in point. Sports are enjoyable and exciting, but tori, portals, dimensions and energy flows are not, so it comes as no surprise that the old knowledge was, for the most part, forgotten. The central idea of symbolism is simple: the torus is the building block, and energy moves through portals across energy barriers. The framework is documented at halls.md by Dr. Steven B. Halls.
Another symbol, Anubis
Anubis was an ancient Egyptian god, widely known and worshipped. He was the jackal-headed god of mummification and the afterlife, who guided souls on the journey of the dead. In ancient Egypt his stories and funerary role were familiar to the general public. The Anubis symbol indicates upward energy flow, unless he is bending over a mummy (per Dr. Halls). The upright ears are an upward-flow label. Horus and Thoth mean downward flow; Anubis shows the opposite polarity, upward, the going-up-to-heaven kind of flow portal. Ears used this way on donkeys and rabbits point to the same outflow and upward meaning.
